Wicked Weekend

Sorry for not telling any of you that I was going to see Wicked with my mom! We had this planned for over 3 months, and I somehow didn't tell a single friend. What, me? Not talk about something? I know.... not sure how that happened.

My mommy arrived the day before the show to spend a little extra time with us.  We ate at BJ's for dinner. We hadn't been for a good few years, and it was pretty darn good. The kids macaroni could have fed 5 kids.  My mom and I both had their Chicken Tortilla Soup. One of the best I've ever had.

Boston loves her Panka:

Friday, we played at Liberty Park and grabbed lunch at Corner Bakery.  Brighton was so upset.... I had mentioned Panda during my list of "what was around", and that is all she talked about until we took her their the next day. That girl will down a whole order of Mushroom Chicken in like 2 minutes.

We went home, put the girls down for a nap, and then dressed up for our big night out!

Of course we had to eat at Cielito Lindo (Olvera Street) since it was on the way.
My mom, my Uncle Stan and Aunt Debbie

We made it to the Pantages Theater with about an hour to spare.

Plenty of time to take some awesome cliche pictures. But who doesn't, right?

Here's my mom after she bought herself a Wicked necklace. She was so giddy, it was cute :)

A word to the wise, The Pantages staff is hard core about their "no picture" rule inside of the theater.  I figured it would just be after it started... but they are like crazy nazi strict.

This is my mom freaking out that my flash was going off... it makes me giggle.
Thanks to my Uncle Stan we had 5th row seats, perfectly center. So amazing. The show was awesome, of course. I felt lucky, because according to the couple next to us, Glinda played by Katie Rose Clarke is the funniest/best Glinda they'd ever seen. Since they had seen it 9 other times all over the U.S. I figured their opinion counted.

She was hilarious; my mom and I were rolling.  She reminded me of Kristin Wiig on SNL. You know, the "suprised" character? She was just so good with the exaggerated expressions, etc.  I wish I could accurately describe it...

I am already dieing to see it again.

Saturday we enjoyed an evening at Uncle Stans with all of their kids and grandkids. Then my mom joined us for Church Sunday and headed home.  We miss her already!  Thanks for the funnest weekend mom. Love you!

Girls Trip

Warning, I took like 2 pictures of this whole weekend. SORRY!

My mom and Sundee came down this past weekend for a little R&R. We started with a trip to Olvera Street. Grandma bought my girls some Mexican dresses for Summer. I got these super cute headbands from a lady at Brighton's ballet class for $1. The combo made such a cute outfit! We are ready for Cinco De Mayo!

Monday morning we headed to Vogue Nails (my new favorite) for a mani/pedi. I took Brighton along since she is always asking me to paint her nails. She absolutely loved it. She was seriously giddy for hours after, and was so good to sit still the whole time.

After the girls were ready for their afternoon nap, and Braden was mentally prepped to be alone with his daughters for a couple of days, me, mom and sis took off!

First we had lunch at The Lazy Dog Cafe. One just opened at the Cerritos Mall, and I must say it was super yummy. Great prices, good portions, great food, fun atmosphere. (And they have coke products :)

Then we headed out to Corona to stay at the Springhill Suites. Sundee did a fabulous job picking the hotel. The base rate rooms are huge and fully equipped. We vegged for a bit, then got ready and hit up The Promenade at Dos Lagos for some shopping and dinner. I have the worst pain in my feet all-the-time, and according to my doctor and podiatrist the only thing I can do is try to wear more supportive shoes. Well, there just so happen to be a Clark's out there so we checked it out. My mom has been wearing Clark's forever, and swears by them. I found the cutest pair of wedges and literally felt like I was walking on a cloud. Thanks to an early, and I mean early Christmas present, I took them home with me :)

We ate at Miguel's, which again was quite good, and then headed back to the hotel for a good nights sleep.

Tuesday, we arrived promptly at 9am to check in to Glen Ivy Hot Springs. We exfoliated at Club Mud, took cat naps by the pools, enjoyed custom messages, ate super yummy food, drank unlimited diet pepsi with orange and lemon slices, moisturized in the Grotto and took our time getting ready in the bath house before leaving around 6pm.

Check out those nachos! They were soooooo good!

Last, we shared a dinner at Outback to save room for some Baskin Robins, browsed around Old Navy and then slept soundly back in our hotel room for one more night.

A picture of us with our matching Breathe Right strips. This one is for you dad!

It was so relaxing, and fun, and everything I needed. Thank you mom and Sundee for coming down here! I always have so much fun with you!

And a huge thank you to Braden for being Mr. Mom for 2 days!! You are so awesome! I have the best husband hands down <3

BFF GNO

Last week we made plans to go with Justin and Stacy to Disneyland for the day.  Then Stacy had the brilliant idea of just us girls going back that night after I got done teaching piano. Brilliant, brilliant idea.

So 5 o'clock hit, and I hurried to feed the fam, freshen up and head out the door for a super fun GNO.

We literally walked as fast as possible (I had to jog about every 10 steps to keep up with Stacy) to maximize our ride time.

First we checked out Space Mountain and Matterhorn. Space Mountain was a 45 minute wait, and Matterhorn was broken at the moment, so we walked/half ran over to Fronteire land to hop on Big Thunder.

Then jogged over to Indian Jones where this employee HOOKED IT UP!

As we were passing him he asked if we would like to have a "better night" and handed us a fast pass good on any ride for up to 6 people.  I was so excited and told him we were new mom's on our first night out.  He then said, "Well in that case..." and pulled out 3 more passes to give to us!

Then we hit up Big Thunder again (because it really is so fun) before jogging back over to Space Mountain.

After Space Mountain, we decided to just go back to Big Thunder since Matterhorn was still broken.  We ran into Megan and her sister who gave us the ultimate Big Thunder experience.

Last we stopped in to say hi to Stacy's mom one more time and then took a few pictures around the park.

I think this one is "Senior Picture" worthy ;)

We had so much fun! I can't remember the last time just Stacy and I did something like this. Between the babies, her working and my teaching it's been a l-o-n-g time.  Thanks Stace!

Girls Trip - Vegas 09

I was waiting for more pictures from my mom before I did this post. I got the CD in the mail yesterday with all 471 pictures! About 400 of them being of Brighton! So here's the overview... This might get out of hand:

B and I left at about 3:30 am Thursday morning (5/28) with about 3 hours of sleep under my belt, and headed east. She slept until State Line and was pretty good the last 30 minutes. We got to my sister Sundee's about 2 minutes after my mom and other sisters, so it worked out perfect.

We ate some Yogurt Parfaits, unloaded our cars, and then worked out while Brighton took her morning nap. Then the girls went swimming and Brighton got her first taste of the pool. First outing of our trip was pedicures. Brighton even got her toes done! Then we surprised Sundee's hubby Mike with some balloons at work for his birthday (which Brighton enjoyed) and hit up Cafe Rio (yes, they have one in Vegas now) for lunch. For dinner we took Mike out for a birthday dinner to Red Lobster. He felt so loved being there with his 3 wives and 3 daughters. Brighton really enjoyed the cheese biscuits, and Sundee and I shared some scrumptious coconut shrimp. After a quick trip to wal-mart... oh wait, the Wal-mart there was seriously out of control. I've never seen so many people at a Wal-mart, or any store for that matter, in my entire life. Especially on a Thursday night. Anyway, after Wal-mart, we hit the sack. I was running on fumes.

Friday, after working out of course, my mom, Sundee and I hit up the Paris Hotel Breakfast Buffet at the recommendation of Amy. She told me it would change our lives, and it sure did! So, so, delicous, and only $15! I seriously keep thinking about it randomly throughout the day. I definitely recommend it. The best part was we were on the late side for breakfast (about 10:30), so while we were still there they started setting out the lunch stuff, including dessert. They were phenomenal. (All except for that lemon thing...click, click ;)

That afternoon we hit up the Vegas Premium Outlets (Charelston & I15). They have every baby clothing store outlet you can think of! Gymboree, Childrens Place, Gap, Carters, OshKosh, Stride Rite, etc. Brighton got some new Carter's sleepers from me, and a cute dress and romper from Sundee and Grandma from Gymboree. Morgan and I got a steal on some new sunglasses, and Tiara got this cool nail polish decorating set. We cooled off with some DQ icecream cones and then back to Sundee's for an evening BBQ and some hot tubbing.

Saturday we did another morning workout, then headed to the pool so that Brighton could test out her new raft. It was a hit. Well, all except for when my Mom convinced me to let her dunk Brighton. She blew in her face so she was holding her breath, but she still didn't like it too much. After getting ready, I put Brighton down for her afternoon nap. The girl was exhausted. My mom stayed with her while just us sisters went over to the Strip. Morgan and Tiara wanted to ride the New York, New York roller coaster, and then after we went and saw the Lions at the MGM. Brighton and my mom met us over at Town Square afterward. It is this really cute kind of shopping "city". It's all shops and restaurants, but it has streets all throughout. Brighton was seriously a CHAMP while we ate at CPK, and then shopped for about 3 1/2 more hours! Before I knew it it was 7pm! I got a bargain on some Tanks at Old Navy ($3), and Grandma spoiled Brighton ... some more ... with a new Hello Kitty.

Morgan, Tiara, Brighton and I headed home to get B to bed while Sundee and Mom went and picked up a few groceries and some Baskin Robbins for us. When they got back, Sundee said, "um, the keys are in the door!?!"... "Oops! That was me" I said. Then they proceeded to mock me because I had my v-neck shirt on backwards too. I guess I was really out of it! We ate our dessert and made some bracelet watches. I made a clear one this time, and am loving it!

Sunday, we went to church, and then Sundee made some delicious pesto chicken pita pockets for lunch. We headed to the Bellagio for some touristy site seeing, and enjoyed the water show too. Brighton was in love with all of the flowers (she seriously loves flowers), but the water cannons got a little scary for her. Last we browsed around FAO Schwarz Toy Store and took more pictures. My mom, Morgan and Tiara then headed back to Cedar, and Sundee and I enjoyed Kona Sushi for dinner. Brighton flirted with the manager and got herself some free avocado slices and a scoop of icecream! Little stinker.

B and I headed home Monday morning during her naptime. We stopped in Barstow to stretch our legs and eat some lunch, and made it home about 2pm. Phew! It was seriously such a fun trip. Brighton loved roaming around Sundee's cute apartment perfecting her crawl. So many laughs, so many giggles, SO many pictures and so many fun memories! Brighton just loved all of her Aunts...and Grandma especially. Thanks girls! See you in July.

PS. And some how I lost 3 pounds.
