Insta Friday: The In Betweens

Um, no posts since last week? What is going on? So not like me! Oh ya, I remember... Something I'm saving for my next "seriously" post. Look forward to it.

On to this week in camera phone, half blurry, filtered, photos. And a few videos for your viewing pleasure.

Boston has been insisting on wearing pony tails lately.

And this scrunchie on her tiny tail.

Michael Jackson is still alive. He performed at the LBTC last weekend. And we were lucky enough to catch a few songs before going into our movie.

Witness the moves...

The girls discovered the shower. Or more so, they're finally not scared of it. Bath time is fun again. And now my bathmat is soaked.

Sometimes I think I'm cool and take pictures like this... Gloomiest day + bed head = No motivations. At all.

But then I made a list and completed almost all of the things noted, plus added like 10 more things I actually got done. It ended up being a very productive day. I even unloaded the dish washer. Worst. Job. Ever.

Every so often I just have to buy all new tupperware. Does anyone else do this? They just get gross after awhile.

Brighton came into the living room and informed me, "Mom, you really need to sweep the floor. The crumbs are getting all over my feet!" I was thinking "What crumbs?" when I went in and saw this. Gross.

Sometimes I get to Cafe Rio right when they open. Yes, at 10:30. Gotta beat the Taco Tuesday rush!

And we wear our fancy green velvet dress there and have dance parties on the patio. Just sometimes.

Here's your weekly Chick-Fil-A picture!

Poor bossy. Yesterday we tested out our new passes to Splash. I packed my Arbonne baby sunscreen which I swear by, but could not find it once we got in the park. So crappy spray sunscreen it was. I obviously missed some spots, but even the areas I did spray still got burned. Knock on wood, but she never burns when I use Arbonne.

You can see her poor eyes way better in this picture. Don't mind my nappy hair and overall scary appearance.

We ended our insta week at Rivers End Cafe in Seal Beach. One of our favorite local spots. It's kind of a hidden gem in my opinion. Nothing fancy. But it is good food, and fun to watch all of the wind surfers.

And last a video I find humorous. Boston's little {broken} voice just makes me giggle. Then Brighton's lesson on what the real words are cracks me up. And last Boston discovering what she can do with her grape flavored stick she got at her doctors visit.

Insta-Friday: The In Betweens

As mentioned, we went to Heritage Park. Love it. It's just so beautiful. Makes me actually want to go to Boston.

Sometimes we don't get our clothes on right away. And we watch TV naked.

I took advantage of the Living Social deal for El Burrito Grill. $10 for $20, score!  I have several good friends that have been telling me about their best ever bean and cheese burritos, but I never believed. Definitely a new favorite place. I will have to say the EBG on Bellflower is better than EBJr in Seal Beach. Sorry. These girls loved chowing down on chips and salsa. Like mother like daughter. And Boston covered herself in her favorite food. Beans.

Brighton finally realized my phone takes pictures. So instead of asking to play games she just wants to take pictures. Other than the shots of the doctors crotch at Urgent Care, they're actually pretty good. I felt a little awkward when I discovered those shots the next day. I was like, "What is this!" Unfortunately, I deleted them. I guess it's my turn to say "cheeeeese!"

The girls and I did a little girls only staycation at the hotel last weekend. I just love these faces!!!!! The girls are at such a fun age to be able to do stuff like this. We went swimming, ate huge bowls of ice cream and watched shows in bed. The hotel is equipped with a full kitchen plus dishes. But they still provide a full breakfast buffet every morning. I guess they just want to make me feel right at home. Full kitchen, but I still go out to eat.

I've said it before... What am I going to do with this girls hair? Fire frizz ball. No filter on this fire.

I had a piano recital this past weekend as well. One of my students gave me this picture at the beginning. So cute. I have it hanging on my fridge.

Instead of picking every flower we see, we now take pictures of them. Genius, right?

Miss B found a couple of paper clips in the desk drawer and was mesmerized by them all day. That and her Baby Lucy.

Insta-Friday: The In Betweens

Here's Brighton waving her hand in front of the paper towels, waiting for another one to come out. "Kids these days". This is the second time she's done it, it makes me laugh so hard.

Isn't this the story of every mom's life? "Kids look over here!"

Upon returning home from just about anywhere, I almost always have to put on comfy pants.  So what if it's 12:30pm. It's just a bummer that I have to change back to teach piano. Gotta be somewhat professional, right?

Brighton's creativity is showing more and more. Seeing little creatures like this just melts my heart. I feel so proud! Is that silly?

Little Miss Alfalfa. So much for her hair being curly. It just sticks straight up.

Our Cafe Rio location just added the "ultimate drink bar". Mint Lemonade, Pomegranate Syrup, Vanilla Cokes? Yes, please.

During game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals the girls and I took a walk over to Chick Fil A. .8 miles with two toddlers meandering along takes some time. We enjoyed a free shake thanks to our Chick calendars and then strolled back.

I filled out preschool paperwork for Brighton this week. So crazy, my baby is almost in kindergarten!

Braden started training to become a System Operator with Edison. So while he's in school they provide him a hotel so that he doesn't have to commute and he can study with the other guys in class. I just see it as a paid staycation for the next four months!

The girls and I like to go watch daddy play Tuesday night ball. The girls get into it... for a few minutes.

We are huge King's fans over here remember. Daddy comes around for high fives whenever they score. The girls think it's the funnest thing.

Insta Friday: The In Betweens

This week went by so quick! I thought I wasn't going to have any new pictures. But who are we kidding, of course I took pictures...

I got this skirt and belt at my new favorite store. J. Trendy. (Thank you Stacy). I seriously could live in it.  It is actually shear with a 1/2 slip underneath. So it is super lightweight, and so comfy. $19.90 for the skirt and belt.

Wife of the year over here.  We are stoked that the Kings are playing for the Stanley cup.  First time since 1993 if you didn't know. And by we, I really mean Braden. I'm really just happy for him. Like I said, wife of the year, right? I made yummy mexican for Braden to enjoy while watching game 1 and then took the girls out so he could watch without distraction. No promises that will happen the whole series, but I'll try. Go Kings!

We had a great time at the Long Beach aquarium with our tot lotters this week. We love these darling outfits we got from Nana. Clearance from costco, I beleive. $6.80, you can't beat that!

Miss Brighton got pink eye today. I'm assuming from the aquarium since the entire LA county school district was there... She came in telling me her eye hurt. I took a 2 second look and we rushed right over to Urgent Care for a prescription. I asked her if I should take a picture of her sick eye, and this is the face she gave me. Hand on her cheek and all.

Bossy playing in nursery. She loves outside time, and they have the funnest toys!

We got some fun crayola bath tints for Bossy's bday. (Thanks Stacy!)

Made one of my favorite cakes and it turned out beautiful. Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Cake. Delish.

We went for walks and stopped to look at each and every ant along the way. Both of my girls are obsessed with ants!

I tried out a center part. I kind of like it. I feel like it's SO different, but really it's like a 1/2 inch over from my normal part. I know, crazy changes over here! I really need to cut my hair... I dipped it in guacamole tonight. Gross.

I give my piano students up to 5 points, each week, based on their practicing, attitude and whether they were on time to lessons or not. We have a group lesson where they come together, we have a mini recital for each other, eat pizza, play musical games and then they get to cash in their points for fun stuff... I was actually worried I wasn't going to have enough. Those little piggy banks from the 99 cent store were a huge hit.

Miss bossy ran a 102 degree fever for one night and has been fine ever since. Who knows what it was...We had a slumber party on the couch. Even though I was dead tired, I secretly loved it.

After a morning at chick-fil-a (you're right mom, a week without chick is just not accurate), we went to leave and found this lovely semi right behind us. Ummmm....

And last, we had our year end party for the moms at Tot Lot tonight. They do an awesome raffle every year, and I mean awesome: TV, iPad, Nikon, Bluray, Dodgers, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Ruth's Chris, Projector, Beach Cruiser, Printer, Bed and Breakfast, Pedicures, etc., just to name a tiny fraction of the things they gave away.  I went home with 2 awesome tickets to the La Mirada theater, and 4 tickets to the OC Museum of Arts. It was such a blast! Not to mention a yummy dinner at Acapulco with fun friends!
