Outside Happenings

We have really loved our new neighborhood! We love riding scooters and bikes with the neighborhood kids and just hanging outside now that we have a yard and such.  Brighton and Boston have both learned lots of new things the last few months. Both learned how to ride scooters, Brighton took off her training wheels, and Boston learned to pedal!

Brighton was so cute helping Boston. She would clap and yell, "Boston! You're doing it!"

Brighton was a little reluctant to try, but in just a couple of minutes was cruising around no problem!

Boston already has a trick she does on her scooter. She holds a leg up for a sec and then jumps off. Cracks me up.

Boston's 2 Year Stats

We went in for Boston's 2 year well check the other day. Only thing is that we went in late for her 18 month check and I wasn't supposed to come for her 2 year until July. It's tough to remember things like that when you had to factory reset your phone, which erased your calendar you didn't think to backup. Oopsie.

So no shots for Miss Bos... Not until July anyway.

Just the usual measuring and chat with the Doc about her forever runny nose. Which, now he's talking about having her tested for allergies. We'll see.

On to Boston's stats:

Weight: 27 lbs 4 oz - 70th percentile (pretty sure she's lost weight since ditching the whole milk in her bottle)

Height: 36 1/2 inches - 97th percentile. Told you she's tall!

Head: 19 centimeters - 75th percentile

Interesting fact: From birth, both of my girls head measurements have been in the 75th percentile every appointment.

Any thoughts on getting blood drawn for allergy testing on your 2 year old?

Heritage Park

We kicked off our first day of summer with a morning at Heritage Park. It's probably the closest park to us, but we haven't been there much. It's not for tiny tots, so now that the girls are big enough, and after our super fun 2 hour exploration today, we'll be going back lots!

It still melts my heart when I see Boston copying Brighton.

Tot Lot: The End

Tot Lot came to an end last week. I have mixed emotions. Happy not to have to drive there everyday. Very happy not to have to work another Wednesday. Not happy that I don't have the option to pawn off my kids 3 days a week. It was really nice the last couple of weeks because Boston was able to go without me needing to stay. (They have to be 2). But  I'm excited to start a new daily routine and have some fun Summer adventures.

Here is Brighton on her first and last days of Tot Lot. I think the tank top she wore on her first day got handed down to Boston and I'm sure ruined in the first wear. But you can see how tall she's gotten with how short her shorts are!

Summer, here we come!

Celebrating Boston

The Friday before Bossy's birthday we celebrated with a few friends. Bouncy house style. The biggest thank you to Amy for hosting her party! (I've really gots to get me my own yard!)

We ate tostadas, drank yummy punch, played, opened presents and sang happy birthday.

Everything about this picture cracks me up. Disclaimer: Boston isn't actually picking her nose though. Since she was just a few months old, she would stick her finger in her nose when there were lots of people around. It's like it soothes her in awkward situations. Nevertheless, still kind of gross and funny.

Boston doesn't care for cookies or cake, so I made her an ice cream pie. She looks a little skeptical. Hmmm...

Her hair. Oh, her hair.
Presents! Thank you everyone! She loved it all!

On her birthday I hung streamers and blew up balloons for her to wake up to. It was a total hit and the easiest, cheapest thing!
It was our turn to bring snacks for nursery, so we brought mini cupcakes and bananas to celebrate.

The Peterson's came over for dinner that night and the girls had fun dancing around.

Monday Darrel and Kristy hosted a bbq for memorial day/birthdays. We sang to her again, and she got to open presents from her aunts, uncles, nana and grandpa. Thanks again for all of the wonderful presents!

Still can't beleive she's 2.

Baby Bossy Turns 2!

My baby is 2! Oh my goodness how time flies. Just 2 years ago I was holding my tiny 6 pound 1 ounce bald baby bug. In her 2 month post I said, "I also want to document that from the first day I laid eyes on her I've always felt that she is going to be a very sweet girl. I think she'll be the peacemaker and maybe even be a tad quiet and/or shy. Just my thoughts :)"

I totally laughed when I read the quite/shy part. Not at all. But she is very sweet. Throughout the day she will say, "I love you too" and come give me hugs. She's always willing to say sorry and as quick as she is to get mad she's just as quick to give hugs and kisses to make up.

She really did look like a doll! 2 - 4 months.

She is a total princess, but still a bruiser at the same time. She loves to wear princess dresses and to sing and dance all around. But when people describe their always on the go boys, it sounds just like her. The girl is always on the move.

She's entered the crying for no reason phase. Just when she wakes up from her nap for the most part. I do have to note that it is not nearly as bad as Brighton. Maybe she's just getting started though.

5 - 9 months

She copies every little thing Brighton does. Sounds, facial expressions, everything. It is so cute to see her studying all of her actions. Except when it's naughty of course...

Every night in Brighton's prayers she says, "I love mommy and I love sister bossy..." Remember that Bos! Even if you fight as teenagers, Brighton loves you so much!

10 - 12 months

Some more things about Boston:

  • She can count to 10.
  • Sings her ABC's pretty well.
  • Thinks everything is pink, but is getting better at recognizing her colors.
  • Recognizes some shapes.
  • She talks well for her age. Not as articulate as Brighton was, but once you get a hang of her "language" she has quite a few 4-5 word sentences, and repeats everything we say. Some of my favorite words she is saying right now are: "So alicious!" "I lub it!" "Look! So beautiful!" and most recently, "Birthday party!".
  • She loves her bottle. Duh.
  • Wears 2 and 3T clothes, size 7 shoes.
  • She is just under 30 lbs, and pretty darn tall for age {however tall that is}
  • She can run and climb better than any other kid her age.
  • Her favorite word is "no".
  • Her favorite song is Beauty and the  Beast.
  • Her favorite tv show is The Little Einsteins.
  • Her favorite color is pink.
  • Her favorite foods are: beans, bananas, grapes, and cheese.
  • She loves to carry around her baby doll or a princess doll, finger painting, playing pretend cooking with Brighton, spinning, playing high five, books and puzzles, wrestling with daddy, and playing "I Spy"
    •  It is the cutest too she says, "I spy wit I ittle eye... somepeeeeeen, PINK! It's always pink.
13 months - 23 months

I am obsessed with her hair. {While walking to our car from Chick just a few days ago a lady says, "Oh wow, her hair is a good color for her! Like I chose it from a box. People crack me up.} I love to cuddle her like she's my baby and could just stare at her beautiful face all day. Happy birthday sweet bossy! We all love you so much!

If you read this and know Boston, will you please leave a comment? I would love for her to have some fun comments to read when she's older. Thank you!!

Breaking Dawn Baby Shower

It's not too late to post about my baby shower for Boston, is it? She'll only be 2 on Sunday. But Shawna did such a great job it just can't go undocumented.

Stacy and I were due within weeks of each other, so it was a shower for both of us.

Yes it was a Twilight shower. Yes it was so fun. Yes I loved it. Yes I look better here than I do now. Yes I am 8 months pregnant. No you can't tell.

Stacy, Edward and I.

The spread.

Presents.

Lots of laughing.

Party favors.

Thanks to everyone who came {over 2 years ago...if you even remember} it was a blast!
