Seriously

*I was putting away the dishes from the dishwasher and noticing that they weren't very clean. I was whining to myself about "what is the point of having a dishwasher if you just have to rewash half of them anyway!" when I leaned up against the dishwasher door to put something high in a cupboard and closed it. I jumped because the dishwasher turned on. Oooooohhhhh yaaaaaa. I had opened it the night before when I was on the phone (my dishwasher is the loudest thing ever) and never restarted it.  Luckily I had only unloaded the top rack.  Oops!

*You have to download the Pin it bookmark. If you ever come across something you want to create a pin for, it's the simplest thing ever.  Click here to download.

*My mom gave my girls harmonicas for Easter.  Like legit, real, harmonicas. That is a "seriously" moment in of itself. Kill me.  But the funny "seriously" part is that Brighton can never quite say it right. Tonight she called it a "moronica". It gave me the giggles.

*Boston is the most persistent kid I've ever met. I caught some of the non-stop whining we had going on the other day. Towards the end when she's saying, "I wanna watch" with her deep voice is when I about kill myself.  And yes, I will blackmail her with it. And yes, I realize this isn't as horrific on a 1 minute video as it was for me for 5 hours the other day. Don't judge.

*The other night, Braden was tinkering with the songs on his phone.  A particular song came on and he said, "I'll give you whatever you want if you can tell me who's singing." I said, almost without hesitation, "Patrick Swayze." It was "She's Like the Wind" from Dirty Dancing. Boo-freakin'-ya! He said, "How the hell do you know that!" Come on babe, every girl probably knows that. Hmmm, now what do I want...

Seriously

Some "seriously" moments for the week:

  • When trying to get Brighton to get in her car seat... Brighton: "Mom! Stop asking me again! It's sooooo annoying!" Is she going on 4 or 14?

  • When I drive, I frequently refer to annoying drivers as "Jack" not "Jack A**", just "Jack". The other day Brighton says, "Mom, who is Jack? Where iiiis he? I never can see him".

  • Boston is the one shoe bandit. She is either missing a shoe, or something like this is going on.

  • We went to Cafe Rio for lunch after Tot Lot, as we do often, and as I pulled up I noticed there was only 1 or 2 cars in the parking lot. "Awesome!" Especially since it was almost noon.  Once I got out though, an employee informed me that their was a "power outrage" and that they were closed.
  • I went 6 days without washing my hair.  Quite successfully I have to say. Some of you might think, "disgusting", but it was seriously the best hair therapy ever! My hair feels so much healthier now! All thanks to my new favorite dry shampoo Batiste. (I used Original, but it comes in different shades for blonde or dark hair too).

This picture was day #5.

Tot Lot: The Ultimate Take Down

The last 15 minutes of tot lot is devoted to a different activity each day.  This particular day was "Rainbow Tag". A child stood in the middle of the grass and called out a color.  If you were wearing that color then you had to run to the other side without the "it" person tagging you. One little boy thought he was supposed to tackle instead of tag. I felt bad for Brighton, but still kind of laugh when I look at these pictures I captured!

Her feelings were so hurt, but she was fine in about 2 minutes.

Brighton says...

B: "Look mommy, it's a temple! Daddy got married there."

Me: "Ya, mommy and daddy got married there."

B: "Me too!"

Me: "No, not yet. Are you going to get married there?"

B: "Ya!"

Me: "Who are you going to marry?"

B: "Justin!"

Look out Stacy!

A little too excited...

We were hanging out at Luann's a few Sunday's ago. The girls were having a lot of fun playing. A little too much fun. I look over and Boston is bouncing next to Adalie. Kind of like what a dog would do to someone's leg...if you get my drift. The whole room was rolling with laughter, tears and all. Stacy caught a little of the excitement...

Paci

I've always wished my girls would take a pacifier.

I found Brighton using her baby dolls' tonight. (aka Baby Erin's... Brighton picked the name all by herself)

I almost died laughing when I saw her.

And of course I'm always telling Brighton to share, so I was happy to see that she gave Baby Erin her water.

Just Videos

I had like 50 video clips of Brighton on my phone and thought I'd share a few.

She gets going with her "Pretty Horses" around 30 seconds in.

A few months ago, we were sitting eating dinner and I couldn't figure out what Brighton was doing.  She was being so quiet and she kept closing her eyes... OH! She's falling asleep! (this never happens as you know). I was cracking up... hopefully you find it amusing too.

Brighton LOVES the neighbor girls. Here she is playing Ring Around the Rosies with them.

Brighton likes to have her piano time after I get done teaching. She also loves to sing... and she also loves to put what she wants to say to different song tunes.  You get all 3 in this video.

Is THAT what she's saying?

So remember THIS post? We were sitting at the dinner table, I don't know, 6 months ago when Brighton busted out with her, "It's broccoli here" song.  It's been an on going joke with us ever since.

I just found a CD with the primary songs on it from when I was chorister, so we were listening to that on the way to church on Sunday. Love is Spoken here was playing, and just as we're getting out of the car we hear her sing, "...is broccoli here". Braden and I just looked at each other in shock.  Translation, "For love is spoken here". Is that what she's saying?  Sure enough we asked her to sing it again, and it's definitely what she was trying to sing all along.  Too funny.

I'm working on it

Disclaimer: This is my problem not yours, so please don't worry about it :)

I've noticed something about myself that was first subconscious, and now I've realized why I do it. While blog surfing I notice I read some posts and not others, some are long, some are short, some with pictures, some without. I find myself thinking, "Oh, I'll come back and read that one later." and never realized why.

Are you ready?

OCD for sure.

If it's a long post with all centered font,
I avoid it like the plague.

I guess it's not "friendly" to my eyes or something. I have the hardest time with it. I've started making myself read them, because seriously, how lame is that?

So for those of you that center everything, keep on doing it. It's free therapy for me.

Any OCD things you've noticed while blogging? Or is it just me?

You can call me crazy if you want.

Hun, can you help unload the car?

Click to enlarge. I dare you.

This car was parked in front of Von's this morning. I looked at everyone in the store suspiciously trying to decide who it might belong to.

Maybe they have a rear view camera?

Break In?

Last night I had a very terrifying moment when about 12:15am I hear an huge crash/explosion out in my living area. I immediately froze with fear, and could hear what sounded like glass pieces dropping.

I grabbed my phone and called Braden (who was working graveyard) and told him, "I just heard a huge crash. I'm not sure if it was inside or out, but I'm really scared". He hung up to call Darrel next door to come check things out.

After I hung up with him, I crept out into my hall to check on Brighton in the next room, and then slowly crept forward into my living room doorway. I could see that everything was fine in there, but could still here the 'glass' noise coming from the kitchen. I had 911 dialed on my cell phone with my finger on the send button, as I continued forward to see into my kitchen. I could see that my freezer door was open... dun, dun, duuuuuuuh!...

FALSE ALARM! Don't you worry that I had put a can of soda in the freezer for a quick chill and forgot about it. Sure enough it exploded, opening my freezer door. The glass sound was chunks of soda falling onto my just mopped floor. I quickly called Braden to inform him of my mishap, and then went outside to wait for Darrel to tell him, "SO SORRY for getting you out of bed to check on my soda explosion".

I always set a timer when I do my quick chills because I know I'm so forgetful. Of course I didn't do it yesterday, and learned my lesson for sure! I was so shaky and wound up afterwards I couldn't fall asleep until almost 2am. (After cleaning up my mess of course)
