Break In?

Last night I had a very terrifying moment when about 12:15am I hear an huge crash/explosion out in my living area. I immediately froze with fear, and could hear what sounded like glass pieces dropping.

I grabbed my phone and called Braden (who was working graveyard) and told him, "I just heard a huge crash. I'm not sure if it was inside or out, but I'm really scared". He hung up to call Darrel next door to come check things out.

After I hung up with him, I crept out into my hall to check on Brighton in the next room, and then slowly crept forward into my living room doorway. I could see that everything was fine in there, but could still here the 'glass' noise coming from the kitchen. I had 911 dialed on my cell phone with my finger on the send button, as I continued forward to see into my kitchen. I could see that my freezer door was open... dun, dun, duuuuuuuh!...

FALSE ALARM! Don't you worry that I had put a can of soda in the freezer for a quick chill and forgot about it. Sure enough it exploded, opening my freezer door. The glass sound was chunks of soda falling onto my just mopped floor. I quickly called Braden to inform him of my mishap, and then went outside to wait for Darrel to tell him, "SO SORRY for getting you out of bed to check on my soda explosion".

I always set a timer when I do my quick chills because I know I'm so forgetful. Of course I didn't do it yesterday, and learned my lesson for sure! I was so shaky and wound up afterwards I couldn't fall asleep until almost 2am. (After cleaning up my mess of course)

  4. That is really scary but really funny at the same time! You are brave for walking around. I would have ran into my child's room, with some sort of weapon, called 911 and then looked like a huge idiot when the police showed up!

  5. Don't tell anymore almost scary nighttime stories, Kyle is going out of town in a few weeks and I'm already planning my stash of weapons. I'm going to need a more detailed picture of your freezer, it looks like you have some yummy stuff in there.

  7. I am glad that I am not the only one who freaks out on scary nosies too! At least Braden didnt instruct you to ...let's just say "get a weapon of your choice", then say "you know how to use it right?"!!! I am just glad there was no burglar and instead just a laughable story.
