15 Weeks Today!

I am now 15 weeks along with my little softball of a baby (or so my pregnancy book tells me) and I officially have a bump. I also read in my book that I should stop sleeping on my back and stomach!!! HELP! That is the ONLY way I sleep. I hate sleeping on my side. I thought that didn't come until much, much later. And I do have a call into my doctor to find out how vital that really is this early. Any ideas or suggestions? I fall asleep and wake up on my back or stomach everyday.

  1. Yay you have a bump now! Pretty soon you will feel the little flutters and it's so exciting.
I know that it's pretty important not to sleep on your back. I am normally a stomach sleeper but now I just sleep with a ton of pillows all around me and it's comfy. Jed calls it my fortress of pillows.

  2. I'm a side sleeper, so I guess that I luck out on that aspect! Only thing I could recommend is sleep with your pillows too! It's kind of like cuddling with your husband! For those of you who husbands who hate to cuddle you know exactly what I mean! But luckily he lets me in every once in a while, b/c I sure LOVE to cuddle!

  3. I know, I read somewhere that like 87% of all women sleep on there sides... I guess it's rare to be a back or stomach sleeper!

  4. I am definitely a side sleeper so it wasn't any change for me. Sometimes I woke up on my back, but you obviously can't help it when you are a sleep, so I don't think it's that big of a deal. I have a pregnancy pillow that wraps around you when you sleep. It is the greatest thing ever! Feel free to borrow it. It is very comfortable. I usually use it towards the end of the pregnancy when it gets SUPER uncomfortable, but feel free to use it whenever you want! Call me!

  5. I know when I was pregnant, I use to wake up sleeping on my back. I am a tummy, back and side sleeper.

  6. Congrats to you guys...haven't had a chance to say that at church.
My advice as a fellow back sleeper is to get a SNOOGLE pregnancy body pillow (Babies R Us). Kinda pricey, but totally worth it-especially towards the end! It will be fun to see you grow with baby!

  7. I concur you need pillows. Your belly is so dang cute! This is such a fun stage because you start feeling better and then the baby starts moving! It is all uphill from here if you ask me! Congratulations!

  8. hi there. my doctor didn't tell me to stop until 16 weeks... so enjoy this last week. :) I'm 18 weeks and it just kind of started to hurt to lay on my back. my doctor always said that you feel it before your baby feels it. so if you're on your back in the middle of the night, i promise it'll wake you up because it kind of takes your breath away. if you HAVE to lay on your back, sometimes I just prop myself up with like 4 pillows so I'm practically sitting but still on my back. hope that helps.

  9. I asked my doctor about sleeping on my back when I was pregnant because I would try to sleep on my side and would wake up in the middle of the night and be on my back. She said that I should try to sleep on my side, but that it wouldn't harm the baby if I spent some time on my back. She also told me that it is more important when the baby is the size of a watermelon, not your cute softball! I was so worried about it also, get some body pillows and put one behind you and hug another one. By the end you'll want to kick Braden out of the bed so you have enough room to be comfortable!

  10. Thank you everyone! I do wake up with some pain in my back now when I'm sleeping on it too long I guess... so that is good. I'm definitely getting me some pillows! Thank again for all of the advice!!
