I guess you could call it nesting... or just going through one of my phases. But I've decided to deep clean one room at a time (probably one a week, since it takes me awhile). So I started with The Kitchen. Now I didn't think about blogging it before I started, so I only have one before picture of my horrendous cupboard, but that will give you an idea.
You have to work with what you've got when you live in an apartment, so although I have ghetto green counter tops with basically orange cupboards, I'm quite proud of my cleaning/reorganizing efforts.
Food Pantry Before (note that there is like 3 feet between shelves, and is a MAJOR waste of space... so I get lazy and just start chucking stuff in there.. YIKES!!!!
After: Aahhhhhh (Also note, that because I usually can't see anything in my cupboards that I had 3 peanut butter jars... yes 3. )
Basically the entire kitchen is the poorest use of space I've ever seen. The architect for this place should be shot...
At least I like green right?
We bought that granite island to stick between the fridge and stove. Who doesn't put a counter space by the stove? As you can see from the picture above, that we have an amazing amount of counter space all together.
I feel SO much better! I even scrubbed baseboards and the walls :)
Next project: The Bathroom
I installed these not too long after we moved in... guess I didn't do a good job. RE-DO
So you're in the nesting stage hu? That means baby's coming soon :) Can you believe you only have, what, 8 weeks left?? I have just 10 and can't believe it!! I'm just waiting for my nesting stage so my house can have some order too. Nice job on the kitchen and bathroom. It's going to be so nice to have a clean house to bring a new baby home to. Isn't it amazing how our bodies just know how to prepare for things? Kelli says has a brilliant explanation for why we have to pee 2 or 3 times in the middle of the night while we're pregnant. To prepare us for waking up to tend to the baby in the middle of the night. Makes sense to me!
ReplyDeleteWow! I am impressed! So are you available next week to start on my house! Just Kidding... :)
ReplyDeleteNesting means you are getting close! I was in a cleaning frenzy up until the moment I left for the hospital. She will be here SO soon. How fun.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the kitchend and bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI like Kelli's explanation on the bathroom thing, it's true.
That's right, woman... get to work!
