I was all set on going over my due date, purely based on statistics. But a couple weeks ago at my Dr. appointment, my doctor got my hopes up when she told me I was already dilated, and thought I'd go early. So now... I'm not so patient. I went walking around the mall last night for a couple of hours which resulted in some pretty good back pain all night and this morning. I'm assuming any pain is good at this point, no? Stacy also let me borrow her medicine ball to do a little bouncing on (which make my hips feel like they're normal again). But I think I'll head back to the mall this afternoon for another stroll and see what happens. It was fun to see all the cute fall clothes out, and hopefully will keep me motivated to lose this baby weight sooner than later.
Story:
So my doc is a "fetal movement junkie", as she calls it, and keeps me just on the edge of paranoid when it comes to feeling my baby kick. Sunday and Monday, she wasn't being her usual crazy self, so I headed to Labor & Delivery (yesterday afternoon) per Dr. Moore's instructions. Of course she was fine... just sleeping. I've never seen her heart rate so steady! Dr. Moore happened to be in the next room over delivering a baby (which was pretty interesting to hear), so she stopped in to see how I was. She was like, "yeah, we need to see her heart rate up a little more... maybe we need to wake her up" and then turns to my stomach and yells at the top of her lungs, "Hey little girl!". I started laughing so hard... (probably one of those things you had to be there for), but it was so funny. Sure enough, her heart rate jumped!
Over the course of the 30 minute monitoring when she would move her heart rate would drop. Just to be safe she had me get an ultrasound to make sure I wasn't leaking fluid. No leaks here, just one happy baby sitting sunny side up with her cute little hand up by her head punching my bladder. It was so crazy though, you could see her fingernails, and little creases in her knuckles. It actually kind of freaked me out! Anyway... I know no one likes reading long posts without pictures, so I'll stop :) Wish me luck with my walking! Labor here I come!
Surprised the jumping didn't do it :)
ReplyDeleteKeep us updated, I know you are ready!
I tried it all with Regan! I was so ready to have her!!! I walked on the beach, bounced on the ball, and even drank castor oil!!! Yes, I know I was so desperate! The only thing that seemed to work... sex. Yup the last thing you want to think of right now but it worked for us! Good Luck!!! She will come when she is ready!! BIG HUGS!!!
ReplyDeleteHang in there! I feel your pain. Emotionally and physically of just wondering when the heck and how the heck this is going to happen.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your walking. I hope you get to meet your little baby soon:)
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck, keep us updated!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Come on baby!
ReplyDeleteI know EXACTLY how you feel. Keep walking... or just give up like I did (because you figure that the baby will come when she wants to and not when you want to) and your water will break the next day.
Happy bouncing/walking/jumping off chairs with straight legs (my mom swears by that one).
I vote for jumping on a trampoline =) She'll be here before you know it though! I look at your blog every day hoping to see a picture of a beautiful baby girl! I'm so excited for you.
ReplyDeleteThis is my 10th time checking your blog today! I know exactly how you feel I was just there. I think you should drink some castor oil, while jumping off a chair and then go for a long walk. That should get things really going:)
