So Fresh and so E-A-S-Y!

Stacy and I... well really Stacy had the idea, I just jumped on her bandwagon... decided to price out all the things we buy on a regular basis at each grocery store (regular prices). We decided to stop at Fresh & Easy first since neither of us have ever been to see what it's all about. We were both pleased with our findings.

A. This is just plain awesome. Reserved parking for Mom's.

B. Produce is CHEAP. I'm talking bananas for 19 cents a lb. cheap. Things are prepackaged in small quantities with a flat price. I like that. Then you know exactly how much your paying, no weighing involved.

C. LOTS of other things are cheap too. Fat Free Milk $2.35 a gallon, Boneless Chicken Breasts $1.49 per lb. Cereal under $3, Big boxes of Huggies for $18.99, Cool Whip $1.29... I could go on.

D. It's all self check out, which I am a big fan of, and the stores are relatively small.

Now, I have not purchased any of these said items, and to be honest, question the quality of some things being so much cheaper than other stores. I have heard good things from a few people, but wanted to know if any of you have shopped there and what your findings were? Comment away please :)

  1. I shop there for certain things (like cheap produce and meat), but that's about it. I haven't thought that they're of lower quality. The one thing you have to be careful of is checking the expiration dates on things, because if something is really on sale, it's probably because it's about to expire. Oh, and their pre-made stuff is tasty, although it's not that cheap.

  2. I've been there once or twice and they do have pretty good prices on produce, but other things are WAY expensive! For example, a cookie mix that I normally buy was almost $3 there and I can get it at Target for 1.69, milk at Target right now is 2.29....Fat Free, and I always wait for Cool whip to go on sale at Vons 10 for $10!

  3. It was fun to hear your side of this market. I went once and hated it. but I am not a fan of self check out. Maybe if I was all alone without kids, it would be a different story... but with all three... I left sweating and frusterated. Plus, I did feel like I too was questioning the quality.
Good to know about the diapers though. I am willing to give it another try now that your review was so positive. (also, i went there when it first opened, so maybe things have changed some).

  4. I know other stores will have things on sale for less... We are just pricing out everything regular priced so that if we need something and it's not on sale we know where it's the cheapest. Just in case you were thinking we weren't sale shoppers!

  5. I'VE HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT F&E BUT NEVER BEEN THERE MYSELF.

  6. I am strictly a Trader Joe's girl.
I would never bite the hand that feeds us.
    Literally.

With that being said, there are both positives and negatives with that store that have already been mentioned.
