Couple of questions to all of my fellow bloggers.
#1. I want to turn my blog into a book to keep every year, and the software I originally downloaded doesn't work with blogger anymore, and really wasn't that good anyway. Does anyone know an easy, cute way to accomplish my book publishing?
#2. Why is it that you can enlarge some pictures and not others. I always thought it was because people downsized there pictures or something, but it seems that is not the case, and it is a mystery to a lot of people. Is it just a blogger error, or can someone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks friends!
PS. And you thought I was computer savvy.
okay so I'm not sure how to publish. i've heard of people doing it on blurb.com? maybe?
ReplyDeleteas for enlarging pictures...I'm not sure of that either but i know there is a way to post really big pictures. there are instructions on my fun finds blog. check it out. i still haven't tried it yet but would like to. good luck.
I don't have any answers...but I would like to know about the pictures too! I am so annoyed that mine can't be enlarged! I can't figure it out either, but pinky promise that if you figure it out you will let me know and vice versa =)
ReplyDeleteI have a Mac so mine is probably different. But when I import pictures straight from IPhoto, they can't be enlarged. But when I upload them to the desktop first, they can. Not sure what that means in PC world.
ReplyDeleteAs far as publishing a book, I haven't done it yet, but also heard about blurb.com.
ReplyDeleteAs far as pictures go...when you upload them, do you select "center" or "none" for your layout? If you select center, they won't enlarge. You have to select none and then manually center them yourself (which you must do because most all of yours usually do enlarge). But then what sometimes happens for me is they still get messed up when I'm fooling around with trying to get them centered, but not center my paragraphs, but also while attempting to get rid of unwanted spaces between paragraphs and pictures, etc. Sorry if that's confusing! I'm a bit OCD about it, so a lot of times I'll check them to see if they all work, and if they don't I delete and upload them again. It drives me a bit nuts, but what do you do?
I've heard good things about this site for making a book out of your blog because it's been around for awhile:

For the photos, I center all mine and people can still click on them. Do you reposition them while in Compose mode? That will mess them up for some reason. Try uploading a picture as a test and reposition it by going to HTML mode and copy and paste it after your wording. I honestly am probably telling you stuff you already know.
I think that last comment holds the answer Jodee...I center all my pics so on the next post I will not center them and see if that works. Keep your fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I should have clarified. I don't have a problem having MY pictures enlarge. Just on other peoples blogs it's hit or miss. I have mine automatically go Center, and I always delete extra spaces and what not. I even copy and past my pictures all over the place. Though, I can see how doing edits could mess them up... hmmmm... things to ponder.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, I think that is the answer, because all of mine enlarge, and its set on Center. I don't know why I didn't think of that!
ReplyDeletePS. I downloaded Blurb forever ago, and you could import your blog from blogger... then when I went back to actually do it, I installed the updates, and now you can't import from blogger :( ... I'll give this lulu.com website a try.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought I was being so helpful...haha! :)
ReplyDeleteOk! That's the fifth post that does NOT include my granddaughter! I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. Do you have any idea how disappointing it is to get on your blog and NOT see my baby! How about this? Even if it is a blog about something other than Brighton (don't really know why you'd do that!) just include a picture of her anyway. Questions about blogs+picture of B. Post about gym+ picture of B. Post about Chick-Fil-A+picture of B. Get the idea!!
ReplyDeleteJodee, my friend just made her book. She used blog2book.com. It only took her 30 minutes to make it. She didn't like it as much as blurb.com that she used last year. But, it took 2 weeks to put it together as opposed to this years 30 minutes.
ReplyDeleteFYI "cutest blog on the block" will be coming out with a blog to book application soon that I heard should be good.
