Music Summer Camps

Start spreading the word!

I am so excited! I found a place to hold Music Preschool Classes for ages 2 - 4 (18 months - 2 years upon approval). I will be holding 2 Summer Camps in July, and 2 in August. School year courses will begin the 2nd week of September... more info on those later.

Where: Eat. Play. Grow. 4228 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach, CA 90808

When:
  • July 14 - July 30th - 3 days a week (Tue, Wed, Thur), 10:30 - 11:15 - 2 - 3 Years Old. - $95
  • July 14 - July 30th - 3 days a week (Tue, Wed, Thur) 11:30 - 12:15 - 3 - 4 Years Old. - $95
  • August 11th - August 27th - 3 days a week (Tue, Wed, Thur) 10:30 - 11:15 - 2 -3 Years Old. - $95
  • August 11th - August 27th - 3 days a week (Tue, Wed, Thur) 11:30 - 12:15 - 3 -4 Years Old. - $95
Class sizes will be limited.

These are not Mommy and Me classes, but parents are more than welcome to sit in on the class and/or participate. I do ask you stay in the building if your child isn't potty trained :)

If you are not familiar with Eat. Play. Grow., it is a new organic play place for children. Complete with a cafe, retail section and free Wi-Fi internet. Very friendly for crawlers, so you can let your baby play while your toddler is in class. It is $5 per child for as long as you want to stay (I'm going to see if I can work out a deal if you sign up for the class). Or bring your laptop and catch up on blogs and email!

These classes will help your child's love of music grow, while developing social skills, language, motor skills and over all education.

What are the benefits of Music?

"Early music experiences can have a significant impact on literacy and reading. According to experts..." - Kindermusik

"Music is a window to higher brain function" - Music Teachers Blog

"There is no longer any doubt that there is a significant link between early music instruction and cognitive growth in certain other, “nonmusical” abilities, such as math, memory, and spatial-temporal reasoning..." - Kindermusik

"Children who are exposed to music before the age of seven years old are ten times as likely to succeed in the workplace and achieve up to 200 points higher than normal students on their SAT scores..." - Wikipedia

"Research demonstrates that involvement in music and movement activities from an early age helps children develop good social and emotional skills. Research also links social and emotional development with school-readiness and even with higher academic testing scores. It's no surprise. After all, the same skills that foster emotional security and social success - skills like confidence, curiosity, cooperation, self-regulation, and good listening - predict cognitive achievement and academic success as well." - Kindermusik
