"Wows" All Around

I will be 20 weeks tomorrow! Yaaay for 1/2 way! It has gone by so much faster, I can hardly believe it.

At my OB check up on Monday, I am VERY happy to report that I only gained 2 1/2 pounds :). Making my total weight gain so far just 2 and 1/2 pounds! WOW! I'm just trying not to let myself get too excited, because then I'll go eat more, and really start packing it on. With this pregnancy, I haven't had the "I am so hungry all the flippin time" feeling I had with Brighton, so that has been very helpful.

I feel like I just started showing a couple of days ago. I can still wear my regular pants buttoned. WOW! With Brighton I was using a rubber band at about 16 weeks.

I love to compare.

I wish I would have taken more pictures of my face too during my last pregnancy, and not just my belly.... so here I am!

Today I had my 20 week ultrasound! I love going to Ultrasonics, because they have the latest and greatest machines! Everything looked perfect on our little baby, still no signs like Brighton had or anything.

The only weird thing was...

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!!!!
I have got to learn to keep my mouth shut! I was just so so so so sure it was a boy (and I guess this ultrasound could always be wrong too), but the radiologist said she was 100% sure. I just kept saying, "SHUT UP! You're joking!" I had already told her I knew it was a boy, so she knew I was in shock. I was like, "I've already put it on my blog!". She just laughed. Serves me right I guess.

This little girl was moving like crazy. Even more than I remember Brighton moving. The ultrasound took a good hour, because she couldn't get her to hold still long enough to check anything. It was fun to see her in 4D (3D with movement... I know 4D doesn't really exist). She kept opening her mouth super wide, flipping, kicking, flailing her arms. You name it, she was doing it.

In this picture her hand is up by her ear with her elbow bent by her face. Her legs are also kind of up too.

She kept moving right when the tech would snap a picture! Little stinker. So we never got a good profile shot.
It was kind of interesting too... I've been having this pinching pain in my lower left stomach, and the tech told me it's contractions! She even showed me what they look like on the ultrasound. Kind of neat, but I wish they would stop. Very annoying.

Braden wasn't able to make it to the appointment, and I had NO idea how I was going to break the news. So I bought him his favorite Jamba on my way home, that of course happens to be pink. When I got home he asked, "So it's still a boy?" All I could say was, "Well... what color is your drink?"

We are both in shock, but of course happy that we have a healthy baby girl on her way. It will be fun having 2 girls so close, and I'm sure Brighton will just love her baby sister.

W-O-W

  7. Hoooooooooooly crap. You totally called it on Wednesday. I never really felt like it was a boy just because it felt so different. And now it isn't! That is crazy! How fun for Brighton.. And how fun for you and Stacy. Now... I can't WAIT to hear what name you come up with. I'm so excited for you friend. I love having two little girls and you're going to love having them that close together. Love you!

  8. What a surprise! I kind of thought that with the last pregnancy because things were going a little bit different, but you never know for sure. I love how you do the color thing. If we ever have another I think I might do that. :) Congratulations on having 2 girls! Any idea on names now?

  14. I'm still screaming!!
From having the same "it's a boy... no, it's a girl" experience, and with Magger's being the boy/girl baby that she is, all I have to say is stop what you are doing and baby-proof EVERYTHING in your house right now!
    Congratulations!
