Pregnancy and Food

I would say I'm not a picky eater at all. Even if I say I don't like something, it's more that I just "don't care for it", not that I think it's disgusting. But it's interesting that with both pregnancies, things have been taken off the "do not like" list.

Before Brighton: No pickles on anything or by themselves. No mayo or cheese on sandwiches. Mustard only please. But while I was pregnant, mayo AND cheese on sandwiches sounded good, and snacking on pickles became appealing. Now I like both of those things (although I think mustard only was a much healthier option). I can also now drink a glass of milk with anything. Before I could only drink milk with certain things like, cookies (of course), waffles, PB&J, etc...

With this pregnancy, and it's just been really recent, I've started to want Root Beer. I have NEVER EVER EVER liked Root Beer, even as a kid. I just drank a whole can with dinner last night and thought it was delicious. SO weird.

Maybe by the time I'm done having kids I'll enjoy Pizza, Corn and Watermelon.

  1. Yeah... I never liked milk before.. now I love it! I try to think of things to eat so I can have a tall glass of it. If not I can "down" a half glass with no problem!

  2. Oh my gosh Jodee, I'm the same way! I've never ever in my life liked root beer, I wouldn't even have a root beer float, but while I was pregnant I would start craving it and now I can't get enough of it. So weird! Being pregnant does strange things to you!

  3. That is SO crazy because towards the end of my pregnancy I started craving root beer and especially root beer floats. I loved it. That's really weird.

  4. I had a thing for Root Beer too when I was prego. Out went the Diet Coke and in came the Root Beer, until the day that Nickolas was born of course. Then I was craving a Diet Coke!! Pregnancies are so weird.
