Last Sunday, we were able to bless Boston. Braden did a wonderful job, and it was so nice to have so many friends and family able to attend. Adalie was blessed that day too, so it was even more special to be able to share that day with our great friends.
After the blessing we had a luncheon over at my aunt and uncles. Since everything could be made the day before (besides the guacamole) we decided to have tostadas. There were 75 tostada shells fried in all, and a HUGE thanks to those who took the time to fry them! (no store bought shells allowed in our family). Everything was delicious, and it was nice to catch up with some family we don't get to see very often.
Of course the world cup was that day too, but we were able to record it, and start watching a little later. Too bad the Netherlands didn't win, or else it would have made the day 100% perfect.
I'm waiting on pictures from my mom (eh-hem), so for now, I'll just post the few I took of Boston in her dress I made. I originally thought sewing her a dress would be pretty easy since I was choosing a simple pattern. Then after I got going, I remembered that I hate patterns and really struggle with them. So after staying up until 1am a few nights and spending countless hours, I finally finished her dress at 11:45pm the night before. It ended up being too big, so I'm going to take it in a bit, and then put it away so she can hand it down to her daughter. She did have a pearl bracelet on (matching with Adalie), but it broke right after church; before these pictures :( . Stacy broke one of her necklaces so we could make them each one.

First smiles caught on camera :)

I've got from a few people that they think Boston looks more like me... I got my blessing picture out while my mom was here, and after looking at my baby pictures I think so too. Definitely not spittin' image but... What do you think?
I LOVE her dress. So proud to call you my friend... So talented. I'm glad the day was so wonderful.

ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know if she looks like you or not! You sure had some chubby cheeks! But I love the pictures of her smiling....she's adorable--as were you! I still think there's going to be some red-well at least strawberry blonde hair on her! Give her a kiss from Grandma and tell Brighton I said "P U"!!!
