20 minutes

I have to tell myself this period in my life is only temporary. In another 6 months, everything will be different... with my day to day schedule that is. Like most people, I think, I would love to have a set schedule. A set time to work out, a set time to craft, a set time to shower, heck, I might even schedule bathroom breaks. (Okay, so maybe most people aren't like that). But motherhood, as well as a husband who works a rotating shift, has obviously made me realize there is no "set" anything. I like when he's on a Monday - Friday day shift (6 - 2) best, but it seems like we only get that 1 week out of the month. The other weeks are swing shift (2 - 10) or graveyard (10-6am), and his days off could be anywhere. So not only do I have to adapt to my girls ever changing schedules, but to my husbands too. Woe is me, right?

No no, I have plenty to be thankful for, not trying to complain... and I'm getting to my point... Some days, and sometimes most days, my girls don't overlap their naps by more than 15-20 minutes. Sometimes Boston will take a cat nap after Brighton's gone to bed, which gives me another 20 minutes, and then I could stay up as long as I wanted after Boston goes down, but I'm usually pretty darn tired.

SOOOOO, what do you do for "you" time when you only have 20 minutes? A lot of those 20 minute breaks get filled with cleaning, laundry, etc., but I like to have something to look forward too every few days, and I can't think of anything I really WANT to do that only takes 20 minutes. I'm not a huge TV watcher... I guess I could read. But I tend to want to get a bowl of ice cream or something when I'm just going to be sitting, and that is b-a-d. So I want suggestions. What do you do?

  3. This reminds me of an episode of The Wonder Years... It's summertime and Kevin is bored and claims he has nothing to do. So his Dad (Jack) says, "What was that? Nothing to do?" Jack then has Kevin clean out the garage that is filled to the brim with junk.
Well, let me play the part of Jack, and you can be Kevin....
First of all you can NEVER be done cleaning...
I believe I still have a pair of shorts that need to be sewn...
The list is too long for me to put it on here. Just check your email in a little bit.
    Love you hun! =)

  4. Do some Yoga. Meditate. Write in your journal. Practice the piano. Paint your fingernails or toenails or both! Take a bubble bath. Play solitaire - with real cards, not on the computer. Put something in the crockpot for dinner. Turn on some music and dance. Stretch. Lay out. Te quiero mi hija!!
