Easter / Birthday Party

The Easter bunny hasn't found my house for a few years now... probably because he's (I'm) so forgetful! But we had a nice Easter Sunday. Good church talks, a really nice Sharing Time presentation in Primary, and then I did an Easter Egg hunt with the kids for Singing Time. My opening to the hunt was, "What do we do on Easter that has NOTHING to do with the real meaning?" We had just had talks in sacrament about not getting caught up in the egg hunts, candy, etc. So I felt a a little... whats the word... sheepish?! It was still a lot of fun though!

Every couple of years, my birthday falls the week of Easter. So to simplify the family get-togethers, we just celebrate things all in one...

Of course Linda made me a homemade chocolate cake, complete with chocolate frosting, chocolate pudding, and chocolate chips!

You can never have enough of these! Thanks Aaron, Marly & Darrel :)

This made me laugh... Braden's Aunt Janice came in with a present and said, "This is for Marly...?" as she was looking at me. So Soni says, "You mean Jodee?" Janice then says, "Oh, it's your birthday?" looking at me, "Well, that's fine, the wrong name is on the card, but you can have it." I was dying laughing...

Linda has been a sewing machine the last few weeks, and had piles and piles of receiving blankets that she made. I picked a few to get me started... even though I don't know the gender yet.

A nice Happy Easter plant from one of my piano students

I also got a few yummy candles, cute note cards, and a fun nail polish holder from my other in-laws :) Thanks everyone!!!!
