My little girl is 10 days old and had another doctor visit. She gained 12 ounces in a week, and grew a 1/2 inch, bringing her stats to 7lbs 15 oz (she had lost 3 oz prior) and 21 inches even. She also got her first shot today :( So sad. She was on the hungry side, and I was holding her looking at her face when the needle went in. She got so sad, I actually cried too. Is that normal? I felt so silly, but I just couldn't help it.
Her 'angel kisses' are fading (the marks on her eyes and below her nose), so hopefully they'll be gone soon. I guess they can last up until they're 2 yrs though. It's hard for me to tell if they're fading, I have to go back and look at pictures.
We took our first walk yesterday as well (sorry no pictures). It kicked my butt. We strolled over to the laundry mat around the corner to get some quarters, and then made it around the block (very slowly), and I was dying. Full on sweating, back aching, dying. My doc said I could start going for walks this week, but I might hold off for a few more days before we try it again. But Brighton loves her car seat and stroller so I'm sure we'll be doing more and more in the outdoors soon.
I hope it's normal to cry about that because I cried my eyes out when he had his Hep B shot and every time they put a new IV in my little 5 pound baby!
ReplyDeleteI love that green on her. So cute! Good luck with the walks =) Just ease into at what's comfortable for you. We've worked our way up to going 5 days a week and he loves it. It's just nice to get out of the house.
Cried my eyes out when Natalie got her first shots. Totally normal....welcome to motherhood:)
ReplyDeleteI was exhausted from my walks for awhile too. I felt like I was huffing and puffing the whole way -so give yourself some time to recover! Walks are great - just take it slow.
ReplyDeletePS - I've loved all the pics. It is crazy how fast they grow and how quickly you forget how tiny they are!! Enjoy every moment.
She keeps getting cuter and cuter!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfectly normal, I hope. I still tense up when Dora gets shots.
ReplyDeleteShe is getting cuter by the day..
Don't get me started on the shots...after snotting and crying all over the staff and Dr, I went and found the Dr on her lunch break to ask her more questions. Out of control. It's so emotional!!!! I'm so sorry...it's a total bummer!!!
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute! I love that you cried when she got a shot. I didn't think you were such a baby :) jk
