There have been several things over my adult years where I would say, "Oh, my kids will never be like that" or "I'll never let my kids get away with that", etc. Now that I have a child, I can't tell you how many times I've ate my words.
Me: "I'll never let my kids make a mess, just because it's keeping them happy."
Last night: Mesh teething ring + frozen avocado + drool = Green mess everywhere...but keeping her happy.

desperate times call for desperate measures!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! My kid would never be the one throwing a tantrum in Target because he couldn't have a toy! Ya right.
ReplyDeleteOhh ...I think I will eat a lot of words too!
ReplyDeleteI am all about letting kids make a huge mess if it means they are happy.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your new bow hanger but I must say I'm a little jealous of your collection!
I think everyone who experiences child raising for the first time puts their foot in their mouth. It's so much easier to say things before the fact, but when it comes down to it whatever works work.
ReplyDeleteOh sooo true! I have lost count of how many times I have eaten my words. Just wait, next you will start catching yourself repeating things your mom used to say to you... wow how the tables do turn!
ReplyDeleteExcuse me? Is there something wrong with saying what your mother used to say??
ReplyDeleteAhahaha Mom. It's just really really weird when you hear the exact words with the exact tone come out of your own mouth.
ReplyDeleteOh c'mon! she doesn't look that messy! :) I bet she was adorable doing it!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't so much that she was messy as much as everything else. Me, the car seat, my car seats, her bouncer... on and on and on! And yes, she was adorable :)
