Oh Christmas Tree!

This past Monday night; the coldest, windiest, rainiest day of the year, we headed out to dinner with J&S and then out to get some Christmas Trees! First stop, Target. Closed due to rain. Second stop, Tree Lot on corner. Just closing up for the night. Third stop, Home Depot. OPEN! Yaaay!

It was so so so flippin cold, Brighton was shivering. But she didn't care and just wanted to run around.

This picture isn't the greatest, but her smile sure is cute!

She also enjoyed perfecting her "jumping"

The first tree we had them open, was perfect! I was excited we got a great one on our first try. It's the perfect size for our house, and our first sit-on-the-floor tree we've gotten. (we got a small one that we put on our table a few years ago).

The Home Depot employee was super friendly, and had obviously had a few picture taking customers. I got my camera out to snap a shot of the tree, and he immediately said, "Oh get over there, I'll take it, I know how this goes. Gotta blog it!"

With all of B's running around, she did do a face plant right on the asphalt. She looked like a chimney sweep with black streaks on her cheeks.

Peeking around a tree and saying, "oooooh!"

I like the hodgepodge look with decorating the tree. Ornaments collected over the years :) I just need to invest in a tree skirt (or make one)...

...and a real tree topper!

Oh, and maybe a strand of lights that works. Jeez. How ghetto is that! I'm going to take care of all of that tomorrow. I swear.

I love our tree :o)

  1. I go for the hodge podge ornament look too...it makes for a much more interesting tree!
The Home Depot guy's comment was too funny. It's definitely a blogging world we live in these days! haha

  2. Jodee next Christmas you will have TWO kids! Which of course you already know but I like to state the obvious.

You know I love the hodge podge look as well. Are all your ornaments about half way up the tree yet?

And I need a baby gender post please. Even though I already know I still need to read it on the blog:)

  4. I love the fun Christmas trees too. None of that pretty stuff! We do the fun ornaments that don't match and that way we can pick out baby ones and characters.
Brighton has the biggest sweetest smile! She is so cute!
