18 Months!

Bossy is officially 18 months! Which means she can now to to Tot Lot and play (if I'm there), and she's in nursery at church!  Yaaay!  She is such a busy girl, the time has seriously flown. Her personality is shining through and she is spunky, independent, persistent, loud, and just plain cute!

At 18 months:

Weight: 25 lb 11 oz - 75th percentile
Height: 33 inches - 75th percentile
Head: Crap, I can't remember, but it was 75th percentile as well.

She is huge! Dr. Vergara said it's because she drinks so much milk.  He said, "Most kids only gain ounces between appointments at this age". Ummmm, she gained 2 lbs 11 oz in 4 months. I mean the girl goes through a gallon of whole milk in 3-4 days. Needless to say, she LOVES her ba-ba.

Her first sentence: "I wanna baba". I don't want to think about the hysteria that will go on when I take it away.
This was after her first day at tot lot (pajama day). She was exhausted.

She is a super climber, super runner and super strong. People comment every time we're at the park on how impressed they are at her skills and/or strength.

She loves mommy, and despite her independence, cries every time I go up the stairs.

She says lots of words... too many to really try to remember to note. She has put a few more things together like, "I crying", "I sad", "Where she go?", "What happened?" and my favorite and most frequent, "Oh, no!" From the sounds of her first pairing of words, I guess lots of tragic things happen! I know there are a few more, but I can't remember them at the moment.  She is consistently trying to talk to me, and we have lots of conversations that I can't understand.

She still has a constant runny nose. Nothing we do seems to help. Dr. V still thinks it's just colds. So basically this girl has been "sick" since she was 2 weeks old.

Some of her favorite things include:

Shows. She went from wanting nothing to do with the TV, to being obsessed with it.  She will go turn on the dvd player, pick up the remote, go sit on her bean bag and then point the remote at the tv trying to get something to play. She still loves "Lella" (Cinderella), but sits through Toy Story 2, Tangled and Dora episodes the longest.

Pretend eating. She makes tea and other yummy things to eat with Brighton and they take turns feeding me, or each other.

Being silly. I've said it before, and it I still feel, that she will be a class clown.

She loves dancing and running around.

Books.

The park. She loves sliding and running around, but hates the swings. She'll ask to be put on the swing, but then the second you make it move, she's crying to get out.  She gets a sickened look on her face, so I just think it makes her nauseous.

Ice Cream. She loves going to Yogurtland and getting her own little bowl of vanilla and sprinkles.

Brighton. She looks up to her and follows her around everywhere. They play pretty well together, and I love watching them. My favorite lately is they pretend paint each others nails.

Food:

She is a very picky eater. She examines every bite of food to make sure I haven't sneaked something new into it.

She does like: Chicken, hot dogs, pinto beans, cheese, yogurt, eggs, bagels, mandarin oranges, bananas and snacky things like gold fish, fruit snacks, etc.

The only time I've been successful at getting her to eat any vegetable is when I fed her some of my vegetable soup.

Teeth:

She finally has 2 molars. One top, one bottom on her left side for a total of 10 teeth.

Sleep:

We have dropped one nap. Against her will. She naps for about 3 hours in the afternoon and 11 - 12 hours at night. She still wakes up periodically and cries in her sleep. I think it's from teeth, but who knows.  She'll probably be crying herself back to sleep until she's 20. It's just never ending. But she does fall asleep more easily in the car now.

She can find her: Eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, cheeks, chin, hair, ears, hands, toes, and arms.

She tries to sing along to most songs I sing to her, but isn't the vocalist like her sister, quite yet.

We love you baby bossy, and could not imagine life without our orange baby.

Boston, when you read this, I want you to know that your hair is the most beautiful color of red. You get comments several times a day on how gorgeous you are and how pretty your hair is. Don't ever, ever, ever be embarrassed of your hair! You rock that red hair and be proud of it! I love you! - Mommy

PS. I really need a better camera.

  1. She is so cute and her personality is adorable! K, I'm warning you though, Jacob is turning 2 on Saturday and when I do his 2 year old post you're going to think I copied you! But they are just two peas in a pod.
Tell her if someone ever calls her pumpkin head to hold her head up high and say thank you! My boys and I love our red hair. We're celebrities everywhere we go and it's kind of our identities! I do love Bossy's hair! I love the picture of her pretend painting Brighton's nails. So sweet!

  2. I love her red hair! My mom is a redhead and I remember always wishing I had hair like hers. I'm sad none of my kids have gotten it.

  4. What a cute girl!! What a great post! I could use one of those daily (I know that's not possible) I'm just saying that's how much I miss all of you. Her hair is gorgeous, her personality is the best and I can't wait till she outgrows the "mommy" phase and will come play with me. I'm counting the days till Christmas!
